In 2017 we bought our first liquidation pallet and were immediately hooked! We sold on social media and at flea markets, and eventually expanded to roadside pop-ups, then fairs and festivals. By the end of 2023, we needed a bigger and more permanent spot. We combined our financial coaching services with the liquidation adventures to create The Thrifty Mountaineer.

At The Thrifty Mountaineer, there's something for everyone! We still offer great prices on brand name items, but have grown to include many vintage and antique items. Our most fun selling point, however, is our Bigfoot and Cryptid items. From shirts and stickers, to signs, spinners and plush, we are Morgantown's largest--and first!--Bigfoot and Cryptid Shop! 

In our travels throughout West Virginia and Appalachia, we've met many talented local artisans. We're proud to consign their wares in our shop!
